The mission of Hellen Yoo Designs is simple: provide our customers with one-of-a-kind gowns of unmatched beauty, quality and workmanship, fitted perfectly and at fair price. We believe in custom designed gowns because they are made expressly for the individual. Our gowns always fit perfectly because we begin with each customer in mind. We thus strongly encourage each of our potential customers to always consider a custom gown first. However, we understand that a custom designed gown may not be for everyone.

Unfortunately, the current garment industry's sizing system, which includes wedding gown manufacturers, is biased toward individuals with ideal proportions. How may of us are the ideal size 6 we see on TV? Each individual has unique proportions. This is why nearly every ready-made gown needs to be altered or refitted. Alterations are less time and labor intensive, than refittings. Refitting a gown is not a simple process. For selected customers, however, we do provide Customized Fitting Services.

Our Customized Fitting Service is an extensive process. Our goal: unlocking a ready-made gown`s sizing barriers in order to fit your figure. Often, this requires a complete renovation of the gown.
That means literally taking the gown apart and putting it back together again. A successful wedding dress fitting requires professional workmanship. In our case we have with more than 30 years of experience.

Turnaround Timelines:

Our turnaround window on alterations varies, depending on the season. For the best service, allow yourself at least 6 weeks for the refitting of a bridal gown, and 4 weeks for refitting of bridesmaids` dresses. If you are planning to wed during peak seasons (i.e., Spring and early Autumn) we recommend that you bring in your bridal gown 8 to 12 weeks before your wedding date. We offer special rush order service, but for a premium.
